“Ridni” x UNICEF: Helping Children Grow Up in Love

The “Ridni” x UNICEF project aims to ensure that every child in the Lviv region grows up in a family-oriented environment by supporting vulnerable families, developing family-based forms of upbringing, and strengthening the skills of social service professionals.

Project Description

Imagine a world where every child has a home. Not just a roof over their head, but a space filled with care, support, and a sense of belonging. To this end, the Charity Fund “Ridni,” together with UNICEF, is implementing the project in the Lviv region that ensures children are not left alone to face life’s challenges, but to grow up in families that provide them with love and hope.

What Do We Do

  • We support vulnerable families so that they can stay together.
  • We help children who have returned from abroad to find their place again.
  • We provide psychological consultations, support groups, workshops, and training.
  • We spread knowledge about adoption, foster care, mentoring, and other forms of family upbringing.
  • We train social workers, educators, and government officials so that every professional is prepared to support children.

 Why It’s Important

In times of war, loss, and instability, many families lose stability. This means that there is a growing risk that children will be left without families. And we believe that every child has the right to a family. Whether biological or foster, what matters most is that it is safe, stable, and loving.

We are not just “doing a project.” We are building an ecosystem in which children are not lost but find their home.

What are the Current Results

  • 160 children have returned to their families.
  • 1,000+ children and caregivers have access to quality social services.
  • 250 candidates have completed training on adoption and family-based care.
  • 125,000 people have been reached by our information campaign.
  • 5,500+ people have access to safe channels for reporting violence in the humanitarian sector.

And this is only part of what we do — every day, step by step, changing the system for the benefit of children.

Additionally, we continue to operate a hotline on adoption, family-based care, guardianship, and mentoring in the Lviv region, where specialists provide legal and psychological counseling.
